After hours of bullying (ok, 10 mins of txting back and forth, kindly coercing) my dear friend and co-worker, Kelly Paice (who has left the Nation's Capital for bigger and better things in The Big Apple), has convinced me to run with her in the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC - it will be both of our first marations! The race takes place on Sunday, October 28th, so we have roughly 7 months to train and we plan to begin our training programs in May or June, so that we don't burn out too far in advance.
I figured, blogging would be a great way to hold myself accountable, maintain a log of my workouts, and keep my friends and family updated on my training/death. I hope you will check in to follow my progress. I plan to post at least 2-3 times a week and include fun workouts and yummy, (mostly) healthy recipes along the way. Who knows, maybe Kelly will drop in, too with some updates from New York.
I only ask one thing in return: if you find that I am radio silent for over a week...please contact the paramedics, I'm probably lying on a trail somewhere.
